Marketplace Policy

How the marketplace works

The Birds Galaxy marketplace lets keepers list birds and bird-keeping items, and connect with buyers through chat. Birds Galaxy does not take payments, arrange delivery or hold birds. Every deal is directly between the buyer and the seller.

Listing rules

• Use real, recent photos of the actual bird or item you are selling.
• Describe species, mutation, age, sex (if known) and health honestly.
• New accounts can have up to 3 active listings during their first 30 days. After that, a higher limit applies.
• Listings expire after a set time. You can relist if the bird or item is still available.
• Some listings may need to be approved by our team before they appear.
• Remove or mark a listing as sold as soon as it is no longer available.

What you can't sell

• Birds that are protected, or illegal to own or trade where you or the buyer live.
• Birds taken from the wild.
• Birds you know are sick, without clearly saying so.
• Birds too young to leave their parents or be hand-fed safely.
• Anything not related to birds or bird keeping.
• Stolen goods, medicines that need a prescription, or anything else illegal.

You are responsible for following all laws that apply to you, including wildlife, import and export, and animal-welfare rules.

Confirmed sales

1. Agree the deal with the buyer in chat.
2. The seller marks the listing as sold to that buyer. A confirmation card appears in the chat.
3. The buyer taps confirm. The sale is now a confirmed deal.
4. The buyer can rate the seller. Only buyers with a confirmed deal can leave a rating.

You can see all your confirmed deals, with their ratings, on the Sales and Purchases screen.

Verified Seller badge

Sellers receive the Verified Seller badge automatically after 10 confirmed sales. Sales between the same accounts over and over do not count, so the badge cannot be earned by trading with friends or with your own accounts. The badge shows a seller's track record on Birds Galaxy. It is not a guarantee from us.

Buying safely

• Check the seller's ratings, confirmed sales and badge.
• Check the scam list, which shows sellers reported by several different people.
• Meet in person to see the bird where possible, or ask for a live video call.
• Be careful about sending full payment before you receive the bird, especially to new sellers.
• Keep your conversation in Birds Galaxy chat, so there is a record if something goes wrong.

Reports and enforcement

• Report any listing or seller that breaks this policy.
• A listing reported by 3 people is automatically hidden from browsing while it is reviewed. Only the seller can still see it.
• Sellers reported by enough different people appear on the scam list.
• We may remove listings, limit marketplace access, or remove accounts that break this policy.

Disputes

Because Birds Galaxy is not part of the sale, we cannot give refunds or force a buyer or seller to act. We do review reports and remove sellers who scam people. If you have been cheated, report it in the app, email [email protected], and contact your local police if money has been taken.
