The spirit of Birds Galaxy

Birds Galaxy is a home for everyone who loves birds, from first-time keepers to experienced breeders. These guidelines keep it friendly, useful and safe. They apply to everything on Birds Galaxy: posts, stories, reels, comments, messages, profiles and marketplace listings.

Be respectful

  • Disagree about care or breeding methods politely. Everyone was a beginner once.
  • No threats, harassment, bullying or personal attacks. Our system automatically flags threats and abusive language in comments.
  • No hate speech, or attacks on people based on who they are.
  • Do not share other people's private information, such as phone numbers or addresses, without permission.

Put bird welfare first

  • Do not post content that shows, encourages or makes fun of cruelty, neglect or fighting.
  • Graphic images of injury or illness are allowed only when asking for help or teaching others, and should be clearly described in the caption.
  • Do not promote capturing wild birds, or keeping or trading species that are protected where you live.

Be honest

  • Post your own photos and videos, or give credit and have permission to share someone else's.
  • Do not pretend to be another person, breeder or organisation.
  • Describe birds truthfully, including species, mutation, age and health.
  • No fake accounts, fake reviews, or trading between your own accounts to earn a Verified Seller badge.

Content that is not allowed

  • Nudity or sexual content.
  • Violence against people, or content that promotes it.
  • Spam, chain messages, or misleading links.
  • Scams, including asking for payment for birds that do not exist.
  • Selling anything illegal, or anything other than birds and bird-keeping items in the marketplace.

Tools to protect yourself

  • Block someone to make you and them invisible to each other.
  • Restrict or mute accounts you want to hear less from.
  • Turn off comments on any of your posts, delete comments on your posts, or hide a comment just for yourself.
  • Make your account private so only approved followers see your posts.
  • Choose who can message you.
  • Report any post, comment, account or listing that breaks these guidelines.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may:

  • Send a warning.
  • Hide the content so that only its author can see it.
  • Remove the content for everyone.
  • Limit features, such as marketplace listings or messaging.
  • Suspend or permanently remove the account.

If you believe we made a mistake, email us and we will review it.

Report a problem

Use the report option in the app, or email [email protected]. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
