Child Safety Standards

Birds Galaxy has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Our standard

Birds Galaxy is a community for bird keepers and breeders. Any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers children is strictly forbidden, anywhere on Birds Galaxy: posts, reels, stories, comments, messages, profiles and marketplace listings. These standards apply to every account, and breaking them leads to immediate, permanent removal.

What is prohibited

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited or AI-generated images.
  • Sexualised content, comments or messages involving anyone under 18.
  • Grooming: contacting a minor to build trust for sexual purposes, or asking a minor for images, personal details or a meeting.
  • Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images.
  • Sharing links to, or offering to trade or sell, any such material.
  • Trafficking or any other exploitation of children.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Birds Galaxy account. Every account confirms a date of birth during sign-up, and accounts found to belong to children under 13 are removed.

How we prevent and detect abuse

  • Automatic image and video checks: photos and videos uploaded to posts, listings, profile pictures and chats are scanned automatically, and sexual content is blocked before it is published.
  • Abuse detection: threatening and abusive language in comments is flagged automatically for review.
  • Human moderation: our moderation team reviews reports and flagged content, and can remove content and suspend accounts at once.
  • User controls: anyone can block accounts, make their account private, and choose who can message them.

How to report

  • In the app: use the Report option on any post, comment, message, profile or listing. Choose the most serious reason that applies.
  • By email: write to [email protected] with the subject "Child safety". Include the username and a description, but do not attach or forward abusive images.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.

What we do with reports

Child safety reports are treated as our highest priority. When we find or are told about CSAE or CSAM, we:

  • Remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
  • Preserve the evidence securely as the law requires.
  • Report it to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and national law enforcement where the people involved are located.

Cooperation with authorities

Birds Galaxy complies with child safety laws that apply to us and cooperates with law enforcement investigations, including responding to valid legal requests for information.

Child safety contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety, for users and for authorities, is [email protected]. Messages with the subject "Child safety" are handled first.
